The City of Pulaski Board of Mayor and Alderman met Tuesday to address an 18 item agenda.  After 45 minutes of discussion, all items received approval.

Those items included approval of 3 parade permits, a second reading with approval for the amending of the municipal code to call for the end of posting of notices on city owned properties, which includes power poles along city streets and in the landscaping that is maintained by the city. The 2018 city building codes were also approved at the meeting on Tuesday.

Bids will be placed for downtown lighting, for a new garbage truck, for street paving, and for the removal of trees and fencing for a northern approach to Abernathy Field.

Four bids were received on the West College Street sewer replacement, ranging from $124,760 to just over $243,000.  These bids were referred to City Administrator, Terry Harrison and the city’s consulting engineering representative to study and report back to the board.

Another issue was to allow the Mayor to sign an Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan letter, which is required by the State.  All public buildings, sidewalks and anything else that needs to provide for those with disabilities will have to be evaluated and a plan made to bring all city properties up to date.

The first reading of an ordinance relative to accessory structures was discussed.  Accessory structures are detached buildings on residential lots.  There are several changes being discussed as to the size and location of these structures. A public hearing will be held on August 28th, at 12:05 p.m. in the Board Room at city hall for anyone who has questions.
