Tourism and Chamber to Vote on Whether to Merge
Posted on March 05, 2013

Representatives from the Giles County Chamber of Commerce spoke at Monday’s meeting of the Pulaski Board of Mayor and Aldermen. In addition to updating the board on what the chamber does for the community and for its members, they also made an announcement.

It was announced that the chamber is in the infant stages of joining forces with the department of tourism in order to form one corporation. The idea was proposed at a board meeting late last year. The two used to be one entity until a split some time ago.

In order for this to occur, both organizations’ boards will have to vote on it. Should they approve the move, the two would join forces under one building, effectively marrying each other and moving forward with one goal. The boards would be balanced as well.

Both boards are expected to vote on this in the next several weeks.
