Maury Regional Receives Honor

Maury Regional Medical Center was named a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care by BlueCross BlueShield. This honor recognizes Maury Regional’s commitment to quality care. It shows that the heart care services offered by the hospital meet strict quality measures, which results in better overall outcomes for cardiac patients.
According to BlueCross BlueShield, the goal of the Blue Distinction Center designation is to help patients find quality specialty care. To be considered, medical facilities must submit clinical data establishing that they meet objective, evidence-based thresholds for clinical quality.
Each hospital must meet strict criteria that was based on the recommendations of expert physicians and medical organizations such as the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. The standards change often, as the criteria evolves.
