Board of Education Met Last Night

In other news from last night’s school board meeting, the board voted to approve the calendar for the 2013-2014 school year.
They also approved, on second reading, a school board policy that allows them to update the procedure for filing a grievance report.
The board also approved four field trips for Giles County and Richland High students who are attending various conventions and competitions.
They approved Scott Inman and Edward Foster to be volunteer baseball coaches at Richland High School. The board did express concern, however, that volunteers at the county schools are not submitted for background checks and said they plan to review that policy later.
Finally, they voted to approve the budget amendment, which will now go before the education committee and then, finally, the full county commission.
