Four Names in Consideration for Director of Schools Position
Posted on February 15, 2013

The Giles County Board of Education met last night. They heard from Randall Bennett, from the Tennessee School Boards Association, about his organization’s recommendations for the director of schools position.

The organization submitted four names to the board of education: J.B. Smith III, Rose Yvonne Brown, Dr. Timothy Webb, and Phillip Wright. The first three names are familiar to Giles Countians, as the candidates are, respectively, the principal of Bridgeforth Middle School, Giles County Director of Federal Programs, and principal of Richland School. Mr. Wright is the principal of Spring Hill Middle School.

Mr. Bennett told the board that the Tennessee School Boards Association chose the candidates that they felt were above reproach. He then advised the board on how best to interview the candidates for the position.

Next, the board will have a work session to discuss how, when, and where they will interview the candidates. That work session will be held Tuesday, February 26, at 4:15 p.m. in the central office building and is open to the public.
