MMC to Host Smithsonian Exhibition
Posted on February 15, 2013

On Monday, Martin Methodist College will celebrate the opening of their first Smithsonian Exhibition. The show is called IndiVisible: African-Native American Lives in the Americas, a multi-voice project that acknowledges and honors the histories and contemporary lives of African Americans.

The evening will begin with a lecture at 7:00 p.m. in the Gault Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. Jeffery Hobbs will give a lecture on his personal experience of being an African-Native American in today’s culture. After the lecture, everyone will view the exhibit upstairs in the Barton Art Gallery.

The show will be open to the public until May 3rd. Gallery hours are from 9:00AM to 5:00PM Monday thru Friday. Both the opening event and gallery are free-of-charge.
