Helton Urges Citizens to Contact Commissioners Posted on February 12, 2013
The Giles County Law Enforcement Committee will hold a meeting at 4:30 p.m. on February 28 in the Giles County High School Auditorium. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss student resource officers (SROs) and other business related to school safety.
Over the past few months, many of the surrounding counties have adopted a policy requiring an SRO in every school. Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton told WKSR that is what he would like to see implemented in this county. Helton said that he urges everyone to contact their county commissioner about this issue.
In addition, everyone is invited to attend the Law Enforcement Committee meeting on February 28.
