MMC Kicks off Songwriter's Dream on Thursday Posted on February 05, 2013
Martin Methodist College will kick off the fourth session of the Songwriter's Dream on Thursday. The featured performers will be Nashville songwriters Jon Nite and Jess Cates.
Some of Nite's songs include "Glass," reocrded by Thompson Square, "Save Water Drink Beer," recorded by Chris Young, and Dierks Bentley's "Tip it on Back." Cates's songs include David Archuleta's "Crush,""I Just Call You Mine," recorded by Martina McBride, and Britt Nicole's "Gold." Between the two of them they have also had songs recorded by Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Josh Groban, the Backstreet Boys, and LeAnn Rimes.
There will also be a special guest opener, Mike Willis, who is returning after his own successful Songwriter's Dream concert in 2010.
The show begins Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Gault Fine Arts Center recital hall. For the second year in a row, the entire venue is sold out for the entire 2013 Songwriter's Dream season, but individual seats often come open at the last minute.
