RedHawks Sweep Pair of Top 25 Foes

The Martin Methodist Men and Women's Basketball teams continued their respective winning streaks with wins over a pair of Bethel University teams currently ranked in the NAIA Top 25.

In the opener, Jessy Christopher scored 22 points and tracked down nine rebounds as the RedHawks defeated the 13th-ranked Lady Wildcats, 68-59.

Kyra Knight added 15 points and nine rebounds in the win for the RedHawks, who improved to 12-12 on the year and 2-1 in the TranSouth.

In the nightcap, Justin Blake posted 18 points and was one of four RedHawks in double-figures as they knocked off the 11th-ranked Wildcats, 74-64. With the win, the RedHawks moved into sole possession of first place in the conference.

Both teams return to action Saturday for Homecoming festivities against Blue Mountain College. Tipoff in Saturday's games is set for 2 and 4 p.m. in the Curry Christian Life Center.
