Martin Methodist Duo Named Players of the Week

Martin Methodist basketball players Becca Smithson and Jeremy Rodgers were named Players of the Week by the TranSouth Athletic Conference Monday afternoon.
Smithson, a senior guard, scored a career-high 24 points in her team's 90-69 win over Mid-Continent University last Thursday. Smithson shot a blistering 6-of-10 from beyond the arc in the victory.
Rodgers, a senior forward, averaged 24.5 points, 11 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.0 steals in two victories for the RedHawks a week ago.
The awards are the second of the season for both Smithson and Rodgers.
The RedHawks return to action tomorrow night when they host nationally-ranked Bethel University in a pivotal TranSouth matchup.
Tipoff in tomorrow night's games is set for 6 and 8 p.m. in the Curry Christian Life Center. Admission is $5.
