Go Red Breakfast Day on Friday Posted on January 29, 2013
Heart disease is the number one killer of women, causing one out of every three deaths every year. The good news is it can be prevented. The Giles Heritage Theatre at First National Bank will be hosting the 2013 Go Red Breakfast Day, a free event where you can learn how to stop this disease.
That event will be held Friday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Giles Heritage Theatre. From 7:00 until 8:00 a.m., free cholesterol and glucose screenings will be available.
There will be two guest speakers at this event. Barbara Brown, DNP, was a registered nurse at Hillside Hospital and is now affiliated with St. Thomas Heart as a nurse practitioner. Also speaking at the breakfast will be Dr. Tanika Pinn, new family practice physician. Her medical practice, Essentials Wellness Center, will open next Monday, and is located at 200 Hillside Dr.
Both men and women are welcome at the 2013 Go Red Breakfast Day. For more information or to RSVP, call Judy Pruitt at 424-2105 or Jane Lee Robertson at 363-9366.
