Regional Planning Commission Talks Land, Sign Ordinance Posted on January 28, 2013
The Pulaski Regional Planning Commission met today to discuss two items of business.
The first was the request for the subdivision of land on Magazine Road so that it can be rezoned for the construction of an apartment building. The commission voted to recommend this action to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on the condition that the property line be moved so that it adjoins the city street by 50 feet.
Next, they had preliminary discussions on the proposed sign ordinance. As it stands now, the ordinance would ban businesses from using signs to advertise anywhere that is not on their property. Billboards would also be banned. Pulaski Mayor Pat Ford said that he could not agree with these aspects of the ordinance and that since they all seemed to agree that special event signs that are left unattended for months need to be cleaned up, they are the real problem.
The Pulaski Regional Planning Commission meets on the fourth Monday of every month.
