Bodenham Mill Nominated for Honor Posted on January 28, 2013
One of Giles County’s most historic sites is poised to gain national attention.
The Bodenham Mill is one of just nine of Tennessee’s nominations to the National Register of Historic Places. On Wednesday, the State Review Board will meet at the Tennessee Historical Commission in Nashville to vote on these nominations. Those that meet the board’s criteria will be sent for Final Approval to the National Registry of Historic Places at the U.S. Department of the Interior.
If approved at the state and federal levels, the Bodenham Mill will become the 37th Giles County site to be listed with the National Registry of Historic Places. Other Giles County sites already listed include the Giles County Courthouse, Milky Way Farm, and Maplewood Cemetery.
That meeting will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at 2941 Lebanon Road in Nashville. The public is invited to attend this meeting.
