Pulaski Physical Therapy Announces New Service Posted on January 24, 2013
Pulaski Physical Therapy, is proud to announce a new service that they'll be offering to our community, Women’s Health Physical Therapy for Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
Recent consumer research has revealed that one in four women over the age of 18 experience episodes of urine leakage. One in five adults over the age of 40 are affected by an overactive bladder or urgency and frequency.
Physical therapy can help prevent surgery in many of these patients simply by helping them to identify their pelvic floor muscles and teaching them how to correctly use them.
Many studies show that physical therapy can help those suffering from pelvic floor problems. Recent research has shown that pelvic floor muscle training should be a first line of treatment in patients with urinary leakage.
Sarah Suddarth Byrd, of Pulaski Physical Therapy recently advanced her training in this area to help individuals with this problem. Until now, Giles County residences have had to travel as far as Huntsville or Franklin in order to get this level of care.
