Hillside Adds New Family/Sports-Med Physician Posted on January 23, 2013
Dr. Tanika M. Pinn, a Board certified Family Medicine physician, who completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine announces the opening of a new medical practice in Pulaski, Essentials Wellness Center, A Family & Sports Medicine Clinic. The office is located at 200 Hillside Drive in the Doctors Pavilion II at the entrance of Hillside Hospital.
Dr. Pinn received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. She completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan where she also participated in the Faculty Development Institute. Her special interest in Sports Medicine and the care of everyday to elite athletes led her to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine working with the Volunteers and Lady Vols, Carson-Newman, and many other local sports teams.
Dr. Pinn will accept and care for patients of all ages from birth to the elder years. Her goal as a Sports Medicine doctor is to get people moving and active. She helps with nutrition and training and if an injury occurs, getting individuals back to the level of function that allows a safe and healthy lifestyle. Methods she is trained in include physical therapy, strengthening and other minimally invasive means.
