First Day of Radio Auction a Success
Posted on January 20, 2013

The first Sunday of the 2013 WKSR Radio Community Auction was a success, as $15,165 was brought in to support the Giles County Help Center. In addition to the 330 items sold for $9,151, there were also 425 memorials and 154 challenges.

Items can be collected, or donations given, at Holley’s Printing Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

If you have not yet done so, there is still time to donate an item to the auction. Baked items, especially cookies, pies, and cakes, are always big crowd pleasers and this was especially true for the first day of this year’s auction. If you would like to donate a homemade treat, you can do so at Holley’s Printing anytime next Saturday or Sunday morning before the auction.

Day 2 of the WKSR Radio Community Auction will begin next Sunday at 12:30 p.m. and it will end at 10:00 p.m. If you would like to bid next Sunday, the number to call is 363-3161. For more information on the auction, call Joyce Swann at 478-5112.
