Martin Loses To Trevecca-Nazarene Posted on January 16, 2013
Former TranSouth Athletic Conference rival, Trevecca-Nazarene avoided a late Martin Methodist rally to slip past Martin Methodist 65-56 last night.
"This was a tough one tonight," RedHawks head coach Scott Combs said. "We had a couple of big efforts from a few guys tonight, but we are still looking for that solid effort as a team.
The loss spoiled a career night from Brandon Hunter, who finished with a game-high 24 points – 18 of which came in the second half. Davie Champagnie recorded his second career double-double in the defeat, scoring 13 points while tracking down 11 rebounds.
The RedHawks return to the friendly confines of the TranSouth Conference Saturday when they visit pre-season conference favorite Freed-Hardeman. Tipoff in Saturday's game is set for 4 p.m. in Henderson.
