Martin Luther King Day Events Planned

Next Monday, January 21, is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Giles County will be honoring this day and his memory with events sponsored by the Giles County branch of the NAACP.
The Unity March will begin at 10:45 a.m. Anyone wishing to participate is asked to assemble at the courthouse gazebo.
The march will be followed by a youth program at 11:30 a.m. in the Bridgeforth Middle School cafeteria.
Finally, the evening program will be held at 6 p.m. at Matthew’s House of Praise of East Woodring Street. The speaker will be Rev. Jeremiah Gardner.

Monday will also be a federal holiday, so all banks, schools, and government offices will be closed. Monday’s garbage will be collected along with the normal Tuesday route.
