Round Table Discussion Called to Discuss School Safety Posted on January 08, 2013
Commissioner Tommy Pollard, chairman of the Law Enforcement Committee, has called for a round table discussion with the Pulaski city council, Giles County school board, Giles County commissioners, mayors of local cities, chief of police, Giles County sheriff, and the director of schools.
This meeting will be a continuation of the school safety discussion from last week’s Law Enforcement Committee meeting. Among the items discussed at last week’s meeting was the proposal of a school resource officer to be placed in each of the eight county schools, as well as consideration of the fact that the county schools are not designed for safety.
This round table discussion will be held next Tuesday, January 15, at 11:30a.m. in the basement boardroom of the courthouse annex in the Suntrust building and will be open to the public.
