Helton Warns of Company's Aggressive Tactics
Posted on January 03, 2013

Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton wants to warn citizens of a company that is using some aggressive sales tactics in the area.

He says that the door-to-door vacuum cleaner sales company is using some aggressive tactics to get into people’s homes. Once they’re in, the homeowners have a difficult time getting them to leave. In particular, Helton says, this company seems to be targeting the elderly.

Helton says that although the company is legitimate, citizens who feel threatened or cannot get these or any other salespeople to leave their homes can call 911. He also reminds everyone that they are not required to let anyone into their home if they do not want to. The sheriff’s department is now requiring these companies to show their business licenses and that they are, in fact, a legitimate company.
