Emergency Crews Kept Busy Over The Weekend Posted on December 31, 2012
Giles County emergency crews responded to a fire and a traffic accident during the early morning hours yesterday.
Giles County Fire Marshal's office is investigating a barn fire reported by a passerby at 719 Pump Station Road, Lynnville at 4:30 am Firefighters respoding to the call included Giles County Fire and Rescue members of its Pulaski, Richland, Rose Hill and Lynville stations.
Giles County Fire and Rescue members arrived on the scene to find the barn, owned by Eric Hart, collapsed and destroyed by the flames. Some preliminary reports indicate a heat lamp used for chickens may have started the fire.
Giles County Ambulance Service, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Wynne, and Giles County Fire and Rescue members with Pulaski, Rose Hill and Anthony Hill stations responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 64 West and Big Dry Creek Road involving a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 and a 1998 Dodge Stratus, which caught fire.
No extrication was needed and both drivers refused EMS transport.
