Tennessee's Unemployment Rate Drops Again

Unemployment dipped in 91 Tennessee counties in November, increased in one and remained flat in three.

Giles Counties unemployment rate dropped 0.5 percent from 9.0 percent in October to 8.5 percent in November.

Williamson County's unemployment rate, the lowest in the state, fell 0.8 percentage points, to 4.4 percent.

Scott County has the highest unemployment rate in the state, at 15.3 percent, down from 16.1 percent in October.

Around the area, Lawrence County’s rate dropped 1.1 percent from 11.3 percent in October to 10.2 percent in November. Maury County’s rate dropped from 8.9 percent to 7.9 percent, Marshal County’s rate dropped from 10.9 percent to 9.9 percent, and, Lincoln County’s rate dropped from 5.1 percent to 4.8 percent.
