John F. (Buck) Manthey Posted on December 10, 2012
John F. (Buck) Manthey. age 93, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012. John was a founding member of All Saints Catholic Church. He was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U S Army and worked with the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge. John was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority as a Civil Engineer in Hydraulic Data Branch. He lived in many locations including Pulaski, TN .
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Thomas) Davidson of Orange Beach, AL, Maureen (William) Schuster of Knoxville;
son, George (Nancy Sanders) Manthey Of Knoxville;
grandchildren, Thomas John Davidson (Sonia), Gini Fales, Elizabeth Norris (Scott), Luke Schuster (Christy). Mark Schuster, Kathleen Schuster and James (Rebecca) Manthey;
great grandchildren, Thomas and David Fales, Connor and Katherine Norris, Addison, Coleton and Ashlynn Manthey;
sister, Sr. Bernadine Manthey of Manitowoc, WI;
several nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday at All Saints Catholic Church with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m.. A Mass will follow at 5 p.m. with Father Michael Woods celebrant. Family and friends will gather at 11 am, on Saturday at Sunset Cemetery in Murphy, NC for graveside services.
