Athens Raid Nets Eight Gambling Machines
Posted on December 10, 2012

After receiving complaints about illegal gambling activities, Limestone County Sheriff's investigators raided an automotive business on U.S. Highway 72 Friday.

At about 4 pm, deputies served a warrant on Jabo's D&T Automotive and arrested its owner, Monroe Jefferson Kyle, Jr., 55, of Athens. He is charged with promoting gambling.
Eight machines were confiscated.

"We received numerous complaints about them having video machines in the back room that they were letting people gamble on," Blakely said.

A customer who was playing a machine, John David Matthew Williams, 38, was also arrested during the raid. He was charged with second-degree illegal possession of marijuana.
