Merry Tuba Christmas @ 1st United Methodist Church
Posted on December 07, 2012

Pulaski’s own Merry Tuba Christmas will take place Monday evening at the First United Methodist Church beginning at 7pm. Tuba and euphonium musicians will combine their talents to entertain you with music of the holiday season, free of charge. The annual event is sure to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart.

A Merry Tuba Christmas was conceived in 1974 as a tribute to the late artist/teacher William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day, 1902.

The Traditional Christmas music performed at the Merry Tuba Christmas was arranged by American composer Alec Wilder who ironically died on Christmas Eve, 1980. Wilder composed many solo and ensemble compositions for tuba and euphonium.
