Single Vehicle Accident on Highway 11

Just after 6 p.m. last night (Wednesday), a singe vehicle accident occurred on Highway 11 at Owens Road when a car overturned and struck a tree. Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Brandon Dixon is investigating the accident. Two occupants trapped inside were freed by members of the Giles County Fire and Rescue's Extraction Team. Giles County Ambulance Service transported the driver, 19-year-old Brandi Frank, to Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia. EMS also transported the second patient to a nearby PELA site, where she was loaded aboard an Air Evac medical helicopter and taken to Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Nashville for further evaluation and treatment. All injuries suffered are believed to be non life-threatening.
