Hensley and Doss Hope to Prevent Closing of Lawrenceburg Center
Posted on December 05, 2012

State Senator-elect Dr. Joey Hensley and State Representative-elect Barry Doss are urging Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons to reverse his decision to close the Lawrenceburg driver license center on December 28. The plan is to merge that center with the one in Maury County and have the Giles County Clerk’s office handle driver license renewals.

Hensley has already met with Gibbons and Doss plans to, citing the unfairness of Giles County citizens having to drive as much as 50 miles to Columbia in order to obtain a driver’s license or any of the other services the Lawrence County center currently offers.
