Council Delays Economic Impact Statement Approval
Posted on December 05, 2012

The Pulaski City Council met last week to discuss approval of an economic impact plan for the development of a Hampton Inn and two restaurants. Alderman Colby Baddour requested a delay in approving the project, citing inconsistencies in the plan, which had already been approved by the Industrial Development Board. The IDB had recommended a Tax Increment Financing Plan, whereby the county would raise property taxes on the three acres of land on West College Street, the site of the proposed development, to help pay for the project and improvements. The Council voted to delay the vote and it is not expected to stop progress on the project.
