Posted on December 05, 2012

The March of Dime’s Nurse of the Year Awards will recognize Middle Tennessee nurses who demonstrate excellence in various aspects of the nursing profession. This includes nurses who demonstrate their excellence through their administration of health care services, through their provision of clinical care, comfort, and support to patients in various healthcare settings, their education of future nursing professionals, and their advancement of nursing knowledge through research efforts or through entrepreneurial or consultation efforts that advance the discipline of nursing. There is also a separate category that will recognize an outstanding Student Nurse. Over 200 are expected at the event.

A volunteer committee composed of nurses from various settings and representing diverse nursing roles reviews the nominees in each category. Their final selection of the honoree for each category will be announced at the Nurse of the Year Awards Gala on December 11th at the Franklin Marriott-Cool Springs.
