Athens Resident Arrested On Theft Charges

Kacie Michelle Blankenship was walking out of Walmart on U.S. Highway 72 with a TV and shelving unit when she was stopped by police. Turns out, she hadn't purchased the items.
Athens Officer Jason Threet arrested Blankenship and charged her with second-degree theft.
After obtaining consent to search Blankenship's car, Threet found merchandise from Kmart on U.S. Highway 31. Threet learned Blankenship had stolen the items a few hours earlier and charged her with another two counts of second-degree theft of property. Blankenship was booked at Athens Police Department, then transferred to Limestone County Jail.
