State House Democrats Hopeful Haslam Will Make Health Care Decision
Posted on November 21, 2012

Tennessee House Democrats are hopeful that since the United States Department of Health and Human Services has issued new rules on the Affordable Care Act, that this will help answer any lingering questions that are keeping Governor Bill Haslam from making a decision on Health Insurance Exchanges.

Governor Haslam is one of 11 governors who have still not decided whether or nor they will implement health insurance exchanges in their state. These exchanges, originally proposed by Republicans, would help consumers and small businesses to purchase health insurance.

The governor has until December 14 to make a final decision on whether Tennessee will develop its own Health Insurance Exchange or cede that power to the federal government.
