Statement From Marshal County Director Of Schools
Posted on November 15, 2012

This release from the Marshal County Office of the Director of Schools.

An incident involving four students occurred at Marshall County High School Monday, November 12th, and was handled promptly by administrative and school staff. Students involved have been dealt with according to the district’s policies and procedures and no further incidents have occurred at Marshall County High School since that time.

The school was placed on lock down at the time of the incident and then released. Since that time a lock down has not been necessary due to inappropriate student conduct. While rumors have persisted, students, teachers, and staff have continued to learn in a safe and secure environment with their peers at Marshall County High School.

Reports of a neighborhood shooting have affected attendance at Marshall County High School. Parents who feel it's in the best interest of their child may have chosen to keep their student(s) at home. The vast majority of students though are in attendance at Marshall County High School.
