MMC Women's Hoops Raise Adoption Awareness Posted on November 14, 2012
As part of their continued effort to make a positive impact in the community and region, the Martin Methodist Women's Basketball team has chosen to wear and sell special warmup apparel as part of an awareness project for National Adoption Month.
To help raise adoption awareness, the team will be wearing brightly colored "Superman was Adopted" t-shirts during pre-game warmups at all home and away games in November. The team will also sell the warmup shirts, plus bracelets at their two remaining home games in November, November 20th and November 28th.
All money from game admissions at the two home games, as well as t-shirt and bracelets sales will be donated to Bethany Christian Services, a national adoption agency which has a branch location in Nashville, Tennessee.
National Adoption Month is an initiative to celebrate adoptive families and to remember that thousands of children still need a permanent home and loving family. More than 100,000 children in the U.S. foster care system are available for adoption.
