MMC Women's Soccer Hosts National Tourney Match
Posted on November 13, 2012

The 2012 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championships brackets were announced yesterday and for the fifth straight year, Number 8 Martin Methodist will start their quest for a National Championship at home as the RedHawks will entertain Number 16 Cumberland (Tenn.) in their Opening Round match Saturday afternoon.

The RedHawks (15-3) secured their ninth consecutive national tournament berth with a 6-2 win over Rocky Mountain in the Unaffiliated Frontier/TranSouth title match on November 10th.

The Bulldogs (18-2), meanwhile, punched their ticket to the national tournament with a 2-1 upset win over then Number 3 Lindsey Wilson in the Mid-South Conference championship title game.

Saturday's match will mark the second meeting this season between the two former TranSouth Conference rivals. The RedHawks rallied for a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs in Lebanon on September 6th.

Kickoff time in Saturday's match has been set for Noon at the East Campus Soccer Complex. Admission will be $5 and fans are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the field.
