J. P. Colvin

J.P. Colvin, of Pulaski, passed away October 31, 2012 at NHC Healthcare. He was 86 years old.

He was a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Pulaski, taught school at Pulaski Elementary for two years,and retired as a insurance agent for State Farm Insurance where he worked 45 years, graduated from Giles County High School in 1943, and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He attended Martin Methodist College and received his Batchelors
Degree from Peabody College in Nashville. He was a member of the Exchange Club.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 2nd from 11:00am until 2:00 pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Funeral service with military honors will follow at 2:00 pm on Friday in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Patrick Owens and Rev. Tony Gomillion officiating.

Memorial donations are suggested to First Baptist Church, 407 South 1st
Street, Pulaski, Tennessee 38418.

He is survived by his, wife, Evelyn Hulme Colvin of Pulaski
daughter Lucy Colvin Owens (and husband Jerry) of Franklin

2 grandsons, William Patrick Owens (and wife Mikel ) of Franklin
Benjamin Bradley Owens of Murfreesboro

3 sisters: Marie Colvin Edwards of St. Simons Island, Ga.
Louise Colvin Dunavant (and husband Mark) of Campbellsville
Franny Colvin Hughes (and husband Ray) of Murfreesboro

8 nieces and 4 nephews and 3 great grandchildren also survive
