Two Teens Hurt In Hwy 11 Wreck Posted on October 20, 2012
Just after 8 p.m. last night (Friday), Giles County emergency rescuers responded to
a single vehicle accident on Highway 11, on the south side of Anthony Hill. Giles
co. Fire and rescue extrication team members freed a trapped 16 year old female,
from the 2007 Toyota Camry that was upside down in a ditch. She and The 16 year old
male driver, both of Alabama, were treated at the scene by Giles EMS and transported
to a PELA site on Nancy Greene Ridge Road. Air Evac and LifeFlight medical
helicopters transported the patients to Vanderbilt Trauma Center in Nashville.
Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Wynne said speed was a factor in causing the
accident. Minor Hill officer Bobby White, a medical first responder, and
Sheriff's Deputy Matt King also aided at the scene. (Tracy Ayers)
