Convoy Of Hope Expected To Draw Many To Agri-Park On Saturday
Posted on October 18, 2012

They’re calling it the “Convoy of Hope” and it’s this Saturday at the Giles County Agri-Park. Volunteers from all over Giles County and from all over the southeast are expected to take part. The faith-based no profit has a goal and a passion of feeding the world through children’s feeding programs, community outreach and even disaster response. Pastor Ricky Keith is the local organizer of the event. Keith and others are working to unite local businesses, non-profits, the government, churches and local volunteers. Keith said, “almost every major city in the United States has hosted a Convoy of Hope Outreach. An estimated 600 volunteers will be on hand to give guests a day of hope for a free meal, medical and dental screenings, a job fair and many other activities and events. Keith said an estimated 35,000 pounds of food would be handed out. Some 100 churches, businesses, civic clubs and social agencies will join with over 300 Martin Methodist students to help with the mammoth program.
