Bobcats Remain Unbeaten; Hold Off Fairview 24-14
Posted on October 05, 2012

It was expected to be a tough test for the Giles County Bobcats and the top ranked Bobcats passed the test as they defeated a good Fairview team 24-14 on Friday night to stay undefeated. The Bobcats defense rose to the challenge late in the game after Fairview tried to mount a late charge but a goal line stand kept Fairview out of the end zone with two minutes to go in the game when Dontarius Gilbert intercepted a pass at the two yard line. The Bobcats used a big third quarter to score two touchdowns after being tied at the half. Herbie Foster added a 42 yard field goal in the final period to put the Bobcats up 24-7. The win was the seventh in a row for Giles County and it stopped a three game winning streak for the Yellowjackets. The Bobcats travel to 2-5 Summit next Friday before returning home to host Lewis County and close out the regular season at Page.
