Election Turnout "Pitiful", Official Says

"Pitiful". That's the word used to describe voter turnout in last
Thursday's county general and primary elections by Election Commission
Resistrar Kathy Bassham. Mrs. Bassham told the Pulaski Citizen quote, "we
want people to vote and I don't know how we can make it any easier,"
refferring to the early voting period. Only 23 percent of the county's
registered voters turned out for the election. Over 40 percent of those
voted early.
