WKSR: News
Polls Open At Eight Thursday
Posted on August 01, 2012

Tomorrow (Thursday) is election day in Giles County and voters will decide if they
want to change the current form of government to a Home Rule Charter. The
issue has drawn much discussion and you can’t drive anywhere without
seeing a sign urging you to vote yes or vote no on the charter issue. If
the past holds true, many of those who will vote have already done so in
early voting. 1,928 early votes were cast this year. Two years ago over
47 percent of the total vote was early voting. The polls will open at
eight and close at seven in Giles County’s 14 polling places. There’s
been one location change. Prospect voters will now vote
at the Almeda Gilbert Fellowship Hall.
