Loretto Finalizes Liquor Store Application Process
Posted on July 12, 2012

Loretto officals have finalized the application process for the opening of
packaged liquor stores in that city. Loretto's voters passed a liquor
referendum this past spring that allows the sale of packaged liquor inside
Loretto city limits.
Loretto's Board of Mayor and Alderman passed on final reading an ordanance
that authorizes the stores in line with the voter's wishes.
Loretto did not set a limit on the number of stores but will allow the
marketplace to determine that. Applications are available at Loretto City
hall. So far, just one application has been picked up, according to
Loretto City Manager Keith Smith. One local rule stipulates that you must
be a resident of Loretto for at least one year to be eligible to open up a
liquor store.
