Omie Lee Word Thigpen

Omie Lee Word Thigpen, 83, of Rogersville died Thursday, June 2V, 2012 at Lauderdale Christian Nursing I-tome. She was a member of Romine Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 — 5:00 pm. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel with Phillip Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Hammond Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward Thigpen; sons, James Thigpen, Ray
(Jewelene) Thigpen and Randy (Gail) Thigpen; daughters, Charlotte Gatlin and Sandy (Jimmy) Black; brothers, Dayton (Lenora) Word, Frank (Hazel)
Word and Travis (Cathy) Word and sisters, Mauvlene Schmittou, Dottie Chumbley, Sue (Calvin) Strickland, Judy (Robert) Jackson and Nela Norton.
14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren also survive.
The family would like to thank Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home, Heritage Ministries and neighbors, friends and family for their love and compassionate care.
